A Real Girl

Chloe does a lot of things I'm a tad embarassed to admit - like eat puppy pop ice cream, drink water from a glass (yes, seriously...) and sometimes sleep in our bed.

When Chloe engages in these human-like behaviors (behaviors Dan + I have totally indulged, behaviors non-dog people surely find super ridiculous) we are, of course, wildly amused by her.

"Do you think you're a real girl, Diggers?" we ask her, in the most sing-songy, saccharine-laced voice you've ever heard.

Typically, Chloe is a foot-of-the-bed kind of sleeper. But lately, she's been in full-on spoon mode with her dad.

I'll put her in bed when I get up in the morning and she nudges into the crook of Dan's arm and just lays there...like a real girl.

She barely moves, except to offer a subtle demand for a belly rub....

Dog days of summer? Every day is a dog day in our house!

LOL! She looks like Budster except we don't let him sleep on the bed anymore.
He's a bed hog and my allergies just couldn't take it.
Funny though -- when I'm away - Brad puts a sheet down and lets him sleep with him.
They snuggle wuggle all night long :)

My dog and my parent's dog sleeps like a human all the time. They think they are human, too. When we eat they think they are suppose to eat, too.

P.S. Our dogs get puppy ice cream, too.

Oh my gosh! That is so funny! We love our dog too (she's sure she is human as well)!

Miss Molly sleeps with us in bed, too and I love it when she comes up from the foot of the bed to snuggle with us! Not only does she eat ice cream, but I take her to doggie day care every time we leave the house. So don't worry about it, there's always going to be someone who does even more crazy things for their dog-ha!

I was in the middle of checking out your blog when you posted on mine :) I saw you had a basset, so of course I had to come over and check her out. Bassets are great!

Thank you for your comment over at Team Skelley! So you are also southern and love basset hounds? We must be friends.

Your basset looks so cuddly and clean- we call Baxter our junkyard dog because his ears are always crusty!
