Getting Carded

Some girls daydream of life lived happily ever after by combining their first name with the last name of the boy they hope to marry. Not me. I took it a step further. I envisioned the entire Christmas card.

Back in the day my friend Whitney and I would pass papers highlighting the holiday hopes of our hearts.

Seasons Greetings from The Clooneys!
~George, Patra, Georgette and Romemary~

Merry Christmas from The Damons!
~Matt, Whitney, Mattilda and Ben~

We did this, not just with famous people, but with the names of boyfriends real and faux. We're crazy fun like that; you would have been scared to wanted to be friends with us.

So, you can be sure that as soon as I had the chance to add a real name next to mine on a card...

Christmas 2008- a Shutterfly design

with a real husband, I was ALL about some card creating...

Christmas 2009 - Chloe was on the back, wishing everyone a Merry Chrsitmas!

Designing (and receiving!) a photo Christmas card remains one of my favorite things about the holiday season, and Shutterfly is a site that I've used before, with total satisfaction, to create and purchase my cards.

I'm participating in Shutterfly's Blogger Promotion, so I will be using Shutterfly to create my 2010 Chrsitmas card.  Disclaimer: Since I'm telling you about it, Shutterfly is giving me 50 cards for free. It pays to bare your soul sometimes.

Because seeing what I've created for my little fam before it hits your mailbox would steal the joy of your even being on my card list in the first place, I'm not going to show you - yet - how my card for this year will look.

Shutterfly is a place where even if you aren't a card-obsessed crazy like me, you'll find photo card selections that are festive + fun, and tools for editing that are very user-friendly. Since I'm not showing you the design I selected, I've showcased some designs featuring faces you will surely find familiar, but on whose Christmas card list you might not be....

Here's wishing you a mailbox overflowing with cards this Christmas...and a New Year filled with fabulous photo-ops!
