One Last Shot! {celebrating a milestone}

I went to a "shot party" this weekend...and though it sounds like a mixer fit for a fraternity pledge class, it was, in fact, a celebration honoring the milestone of a 3-year old...

I've written before about Ben, the son of our friends Kim + Dave, who has Menkes Disease. Because of Menkes, Ben has taken daily copper shot injections nearly every day he's been alive. Now, as his third year begins, the daily shots  are coming to an end!

The Final Countdown!

Ever the party people, Ben's parents decided to mark this celebration with a huge party for the family and friends who love them, and who love Ben.

There were even syringe "glasses" - too cute!

The color theme of the party was, appropriately, copper and blue - the color of Ben's daily shots. The desserts were served in shot glasses! A hostess after my own heart, even Kim's dress matched the party!

Guests wrote notes in a SHOT book, a perfect keepsake and an addition to keep behind the bar...

You know I love a party with a clever theme....and as themes go, I can't imagine a better one for this sweet family! Sassy decor aside, this was the perfect celebration for the happiness - and hope- Ben's upcoming birthday holds! Cheers!!
