Taking a Swing for Ben

There's a sweet little guy named Ben who is so handsome and special he has his very own annual golf tournament.

Every Spring, all of  Ben's dad's friends, inlcuding Mr. W,  cart up their clubs and spend a day on the links.

All of Ben's mom's friends, including me, volunteer to help make the day run smoothly...We do this to raise money for The Menkes Foundation, an organization that advances the reasearch of Menkes Disease, a rare and sadly, often fatal, genetic disease that limits a baby's ability to metabolize copper.

Ben, who will be turn 3 this Fall, was born with Menkes. So far, he's beating every odd as he grows into quite the little miracle.

That's why his parents give back to the Foundation through this annual golf tournament called Pennies from Heaven.

This year's event was so fun! Not only is Pennies from Heaven for a special cause, but it brings close friends together for a great day of
golfing on the green....

and girl (and baby!) talk in the clubhouse....

After 18 holes, everyone came together for dinner, a silent auction, and awards. Then, we ended the day at the 19th Hole (aka, Dave and Kim's house) celebrating the nealry $6,500 raised for Menkes!
