Like Learning the Truth About Santa...

My friend Fran hosted her annual ornament exhange this weekend (more on that tomorrow!) and Dan + I were guests. Nosing around in Fran's husband's office I saw this:

I'm no English major, but I did earn A's in all my college Lit classes. Still, I had no idea that to some Islands in the Stream is more Hemingway than Parton. Before it was a hit country song, it was a serious book title.

Fran's powder room, with its chalkboard painted walls, is the cutest - and so fun at parties. I turned my grief into graffati:

I'll never hear Dolly + Kenny the same again.

I thought the same thing when I looked at the pic, "Is that a joke book tucked amongst the serious literature?" Oy. That double major is really working for me, apparently.

We do have a basset ornament on the Mickey tree- it is Pluto themed. :) I definitely need more. I did buy a talking basset hound at Cracker Barrel for my family's Dirty Santa this year. Each year, we bring a good gift and a joke gift, both nicely wrapped so you do not know which you are choosing. It could be a Pottery Barn gift card, or a talking basset hound. :)

Hi! Was talking to Dee earlier since she will be in MD the same time I am. She mentioned she was visiting you, I grew up in the same town where you live! Small world!
