Town and Country

I love it when people come to Maryland to visit, and Saturday, several DC friends came way past the Beltway to Larriland Farm out in Dan's native land, The County.

There isn't a Starbucks for miles out there, but who needs the over-hyped Pumpkin Spiced Latte and its twin muffin anyway, when there's hot apple cider.....

and fried apple fritters.

There aren't many opportunities to wear a Stetson around the 'burbs, so Dan siezed the moment....

He brought me to Larriland on our second date years ago...and since that day, he's been the apple of my eye.....

The weather did us no favors on Saturday...it rained, and it was cold, so we skipped the hay ride and pumpkin fields.

There were plenty of options around the market, though...

and mostly, there was plenty of fall food!

Thee turkey leg comes highly recommened...

as do the sweet potato fries and fried pickles....

If you are looking for a pumpkin patch this October, I can't recommend Larriland Farm enough. Is it worth the drive from town, way out to the country? The consensus from my Washington friends was......

 Totes McGoats.

Ohmygosh. It looks like you had so much fun!!! I was giggling at some of the things on the menu board--a bbq sundae--wow! I'm more of a turkey drumstick girl myself. What a great weekend, and a fun memory with your friends :) Happy Monday. oxo
