Top Two Tuesday {my oprah and brad paisley almosts}

I have been a busy bee lately, and have fallen behind on the blogging. So...this fun little Tuesday party hosted by The Undomestic Momma makes for an easy way to update! I always love reading the Top 2's from other bloggers, so....

Top Two Random Things About Me....

1. I've been on the Oprah show.

My college friends and I were once featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show for the ways that we celebrated our friendship. It was a quick, 1 minute package and we didn't actually meet O. It was taped at my apartment in Knoxville, by a news photog from the station where I was working at the time.  All the behind-the-scenes stuff was handled by me and a Harpo producer.  However...it was quite amusing to me when after four years of skipping class to watch Oprah...and four years of promising my friends I'd get us on the show one day to forward the email to everyone that I'd actually made it happen! If I were really savvy I'd figure out how to transfer the VHS tape of the segment and post the video (it's worth it to just hear our Southern accents...you know they get worse when en masse!).

2.  I almost married Brad Paisley. Kind of....

When I was about 24 I spent a full six weeks or so thinking I was meant to marry country music singer Brad Paisley.  I've always been a real dreamer, a crazy optimist, and a few random things happened that- to me (an oddly, no one else) -  were signs that he, just a fresh newcomer at the time, and I were Meant to Be!  I was a tv news reporter and Mr. P just happened to be playing a show in town during the same week that his second album, Part II, had been released.  So it wasn't impossible for me to force, stalk out  land a little face time with him by scheduling an interview.  Still old fashioned, in spite of being slighlty desperate and insane a hopeless romantic, I played it cool and kept this mindset: If Brad doesn't ask for my number following our interview, we're not meant to be.

I don't have to tell you how this ended.

Still...I got to hang out while this video was shot, and this really crazy story that captures my whimsical madness is Mr. W's favorite story about me ever!

Yes, there is video of this infamous interview. No, no one has ever seen it in its entireity but me...
