When the storms blew threw the South last week, I knew it would just be a matter of time before Southerners in Washington, DC, stepped up and did something to help their people back home. One of the things I love most about being a Southerner in this city...it makes this melting pot of a town feel like Main Street at times, and it makes home feel not so far away.
Next week, We Are Alabama will be the second major fundraiser that Alabamians have organized.
I'm blogging today over at DC Ladies about storm relief efforts in the District, click here if you want to learn about it, or others ways to help!

Good stuff! Have a good weekend!
Praying they raise lots of money! Kori xoxo
This sounds great! I have been trying to find ways to help as well. My dad owns a home in Tuscaloosa that thankfully was okay - he also taught at Bama so I have a special spot in my heart for the Tide! Absolutely breaks my heart to see what the town is going through, though us southerners are made of hearty stock & will soon recover! Thanks so much for sharing the recent relief efforts with us!
Thank you for thinking of the ones so far away! I love your heart!!!
