Every Christmas I make the aforementioned rolls, known in my kitchen as Tara Rolls, because I got the recipe from a friend named Tara, when my family gathers with friends. This year, I decided to change things up a bit, and I also made these....
Hot Roast Beef Party Sandwiches. Here's the recipe. It is deelish! Roast beef + melted Havarti + walnuts + peach preserves = YUMNESS.
I will not judge if you want to change the name of these sandwiches because 1/ the current name is boring and 2/they taste so good they deserve a moniker that is equally appetizing. I may call them Beef Cakes. The preserves and the Havariti gives it a certain sweetness. If you think of something more clever, let me know...
Forgive me for not taking photos of these while preparing and serving to friends. I wasn't in my own kitchen, where taking pictures of myself cooking seems weird enough. I simply wasn't brave enought to dork-out with photo documentation in front of anyone besides Mr. W. I'll be bolder in 2010, but back to the food...
Make these Beef Cakes for a New Year's Eve buffet...or for your New Year's Day Brunch...and by then you'll have mastered (and perhaps renamed?) these bites to serve for the Super Bowl Party!
